Welcome Earthquake! Oct. 20, 2022
An African Lily from our garden this morning!

It is too bad that Earthquakes don't get named like hurricanes - it would be nice to be able to say, "Earthquake Isabelle welcomed us to our new home this morning at 6:57 this morning".  We were reading in bed, and she rocked the house and the bed as though distracting, then comforting, a petulant child.

All of the morning bird calls went silent just before the earthquake, and as soon as the quake's comforting rocking ended, the rooster across the street crowed to announce that the worst was over and we should get back to business.  The rest of the area's birds responded by doing a neighborhood watch check-in at maximum volume until the door-to-door calls had been completed and volumes returned to normal.

Our stream continued as though nothing unusual was happening.

Boquete, in the mountains, received the earthquake as 4.8 in strength, not the full 6.7 impact at the source, out to sea.  It was a slide-back-and-forth and not a bounce-up-and-down tectonic display of power.  Nothing moved about in the house - even the paintings are still straight on the walls, and our shelves are no more messy than before the trembler.

So, we are doing our first laundry and hoping to get it dried in the morning sun before the afternoon rains begin.

All is well, and we feel well-come!
