Panama Scouting - Day 21 - Boquete Cloud Forest Hike

Hola! Miguel told me I said hello like a Brazilera yesterday - apparently, they think the H in Hola is extraneous, too! Spanish seems to me to be a see-and-say language, so what is that H doing there? I have much to learn.

Miguel got to go on his cloud forest hike to the waterfalls today and found it a wonderful experience! He is having trouble with his knees, so the travel up the mountain was do-able, but the trip down was dicey. The other eight people on the hike assured him that he was not old enough to have such problems and they would make him look good if he fell. There are three waterfalls, but the third is a more dangerous hike, so only two of the nine people tackled it. The tour bus passed the "baby waterfall" at which we took photos last Thursday, which got a good chuckle out of the group. Miguel took lots of great images, and the tour guide will post some more tonight, so you might get another tomorrow.

Miguel was famished when he returned, so we returned to the Brazillian restaurant to try the pizza. The pizza was robust with lots of meat and not a lot of tomato sauce or cheese - so Italian via Brazil is distinctive, and here, it is popular! He ordered the Minas Gerais, which is named for the most prominent mining district in Brazil, and we visited there on our second trip to Brazil.
One thing about being in coffee country, even though I don't like the taste of coffee, is that the coffee/cafe ice cream is fantastic - and caffeinated. I needed a little pick-me-up mid-town walking tour, and I stumbled upon a coffee shop hosted by one of the plantations/fincas. The most inspiring scoop of caffeine I have had in ... ever!
Until tomorrow!
