Panama Scouting - Day 21.5 - Cloud Forest Photos
Coffee plants in the cloud forest

Here are some photos that the tour guide for the Cloud Forest hike posted from Miguel's trip.  No resplendent quetzals seen, but that entices Miguel to take the official Quetzal Hike tour next time.  Mating season for quetzals starts in April, so we may have to wait a year for best viewing (or even finding, as they are notoriously shy).

Setting off on the cloud forest trail.
After you climb and climb and climb, you get above the cloud forest - sunset from the top of the world.
An always camouflaged butterfly. The transparent wings ensure that his cover is never blown!
A bold lily.
Yet another kind of heliconia
A beetle looking to be noticed by the hiking group
Another WOW of a flower!
A stream along the hike pathway
Lily bathing in the mist.
The mist of the cloud forest makes for perfect rainbows, and often multiple rainbows are visible at once.
A leggy heliconia
Miguel's tour group. Miguel is second from the left. Bye!

Can't you hardly wait to get to Panama to hike these exotic and tempting locations?

See you there!
