Panama Scouting - Day 15.5 -Boquete - the color White

The number of flower photos grows by the day - sometimes by the hour!

White has asked to sponsor this evening's special break.  White flowers are not very common, perhaps because the bold colors all around make it necessary to compete, and white looks cloud-like in the cloud forest.  Here are a few examples I have found to white your whistle!

This is said to be a relative of the geranium - but notice how long the trunks of each blossom are - like they have to reach out to get attention!
A trumpet flower, or an "angel's trumpet" actually has a yellow tinge, but sometimes you cannot tell until your get right up to the flower. Sometimes the flowers are a more golden yellow, and sometimes a coral pink. At least around Boquete, this pale white-yellow seems to be the most prominent color for angel's trumpets.
Hydrangeas grow wild in Panama, but also are a prominent garden hedge plant. This one is thinking about going blue, but the blue is shy, and hiding with the white taking prominence. The blossom is about 10 inches across!

White is a rarity in Panama, but that makes it all the more distinctive.
