Panama Scouting - Day 24 - Boquete; Last Day

Panama Scouting - Day 24 - Boquete; Last Day

Hello!  This is our last night in Boquete, and we spent the afternoon packing things up and checking in for tomorrow's flight from David (30 minutes to the airport from Boquete) to Panama City.

I found these on the stairs leading to a rental property - cool, yes?

Today's post is sponsored by the colors Yellow and Blue - note the sunflowers against the amazing blue of the sky and be reminded that complementary colors are the spice of life.  Yellow and Blue, we love you!

Hydrangeas grow wild here, and they are HUGE!

We pick up our final batch of laundry at 7:00 pm and then have dinner.  The evening will see me folding and packing to ensure that we have everything together for tomorrow morning's flight.  We will be picked up at 07:30 for the trip to David, and if you know us well, you will know that we are not early risers, and it is best that we not speak before 8:30 am - to others or each other.  Should be interesting!  Especially since the flight to Miami is at 07:46 on Wednesday - which means we have to be awake soon after we normally fall asleep; hopefully, we can just hand over documents and not be required to be cogent.

Remember that I told you that tree trunks/stumps that don't re-sprout, and large rocks seem to require decoration?  Here are two more photos from the area of the town plaza.  The first is a rock carving of a mother and child, and the second is the "Princess of Boquete", which you will note if you look closely enough to see her crown.  These treasures are all over the area, not just in town, and sometimes I will see them in fields where cows, horses, or goats are grazing.  If it is not being useful, it should at least be beautiful!

Miguel checks Facebook often, and we just received an encouraging message from a couple who came down to establish their residency, and they accomplished that in less than a week using information and an attorney in David recommended by the Panama Relocation Tours.  During that same week, and with only 4 hours of time spent at the attorney's and the Consulate, they also rented a house in Brise (BREE-zeh) Boquetena (imagine that enya over the n), one of the three areas Miguel and I targeted.  Their rental house is $800 per month and has three bedrooms and two baths, a garden in the back yard, a view of the mountains - and hot water!

We are feeling now that this move will really happen - it is not just a pipe dream.

Miguel keeps asking me if I am happy - and I am!

Buenas Tardes desde Boquete!  Tomorrow is Panama City, then home.
